Rehabilitation

Rain Wellness’ rehabilitative process starts with understanding pain and how injuries occur in the first place. Below are the steps we take in your soft tissue rehabilitation.

Rain Wellness’ Rehabilitation Process:

Step 1

We begin with our clients filling out a health history form.  Why? By understanding the history of How, What, Why, When, and Where an injury occurred gives us a better understanding of the possible tissues (directly and indirectly) involved. This allows us a bit of an insight of what we are dealing with and how to better address a “problem area”.

Step 2

We move on to a physical assessment of your body. We look at your posture, gait (how you move while walking), and any compensating movements. We gently feel the involved muscles (we are checking for tightness, temperature, and tone), and may perform muscle testing, passive and/or active range of motion on a specific or group of muscles to check the integrity of the muscles. We may even do special testing to validate or eliminate possible irritation from muscles, joints, bones, and/or nerves.

Step 3

Treatment to the affected area begins, along with the compensating muscles to ensure proper tissue health. RMT’s (Registered Massage Therapists) use several modalities to help reduce pain, scar tissue, fascial restrictions, decrease trigger points and muscle spasms, this then assists to increase mobility, circulation, range of motion, and overall tissue health. At Rain Wellness, we incorporate the use of simple hydrotherapy to assist in the rehabilitative process.

Step 4

After treatment, your RMT will put together a suitable home-care plan for you to ensure proper stretching and strengthening of the involved muscles, or to recommend other effective home-care remedies to assist you in improving your tissue health and improving your overall well being.
